Forest School Enrichment Program in the Mountains of East Tennessee
Do you want to see your child(ren) thriving from more time in nature?
At Nourished in Nature we strive to build a beautiful community for your children as well as facilitate ample time in nature for them. Our goal is for your child to feel completely nourished, both physically and mentally/emotionally.
We are homeschoolers who believe that we have gotten away from our roots - from nature, from natural healing, and from sustainability. We encourage our students to be fully immersed in nature while they are with us - to explore, to learn, to get to know their body's abilities in nature, and to learn how to do fundamental homesteading skills.
Our vision is to create a community of like-minded mamas and caregivers where our children thrive together, love to play together and learn and grow together throughout the changing seasons. We believe community is more important than ever, and this is a great way to build a strong community for yourself and your family.
We are child-led - so we often will explore what the children find that day - from mushrooms to edible plants to insects or trees. We will facilitate an activity for them each time where they can learn more about things in their natural environment. We also encourage lots of free-play.
If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, then let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it. Perhaps this is what Thoreau had in mind when he said, “the more slowly trees grow at first, the sounder they are at the core, and I think the same is true of human beings.” ~David Sobel
