Nourished in Nature forest school encourages the love of nature in all children, big and small. We are homeschooling parents leading a Waldorf and Charlotte Mason-inspired, child-centered, nature-based learning program for children in the mountains of East Tennessee. Our focus is on guiding children to live more in touch with their own nature and their roots, in the natural world. We help facilitate innate qualities of mindfulness, exploration, wonder, and curiosity while building a strong community. Our mission and goal is to respect each child’s inner being to help them flourish into their true selves. We meet once per week for children and families. We’ve seen remarkable benefits in mixed-age play and see how children thrive and grow in such an environment.
Children love to explore and learn about foraging, plant identification, nature based art, handicrafts and so much more. We offer all of this and more for the children and families in our community at our forest school.
Our Program
At Nourished in Nature, we provide enrichment programs that celebrate childhood and the natural world through authentic experiences guided by gifted leaders. We are committed to providing a child-centered, safe, and supportive outdoor learning environment for all of our students and their families.
Forest School at Jack Snider Park in Unicoi, TN
Mondays: 10am-2pm
For all ages of children with their caregiver.
For forest school we go by the seasons. Fall session is September through December, Winter is February through April, Spring is April through June and we take the summer off.
Cost: $98 per month, per family (this includes all supplies for all children in your family)
This is a homeschooling community building program for parents and children. We know the need for building community in this area and we are answering that call. Additionally, this is an opportunity for parents to become immersed in nature with their children, helping with activities and learning skills. Join us to meet like-minded people and to build a strong community for yourself and your children.
Homeschool Enrichment for Teens
This program is designed for homeschooled teenagers in the Tri-Cities, TN area. These classes will immerse your teenager in using plants as medicine and help to develop their foraging skills. They will learn how to make products that they will then come home with.
